May 30, a closed trial on the case of 78-year-old activist Nina Baginskaya was held in Pershamaiski district court of Minsk. At the end of the session, she was released without punishment, while the criminal case was terminated, reports "Belsat" with reference to sources.
Reminder, the woman was charged with Article 342-2 of the Criminal Code (Repeated violation of the order of organizing or holding mass events). The reason for criminal prosecution was walking with white-red-white badges on her clothes and the demonstration of national symbols in the streets of Minsk in 2024, reported human rights activists.
According to "Viasna," Nina Baginskaya was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 24.23 of the Administrative Code (Unauthorized picketing) three times in 2024. The total amount of fines amounted to 7200 rubles. In addition, five more protocols were drawn up against her.
