At 10.30 a.m. the trial of activist Nina Baginskaya started in Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk. No one was allowed to attend the trial of the 78-year-old woman, including representatives of diplomatic missions. Such a decision was made by Judge Maksim Trusevich, who passed politically motivated sentences on dozens of activists, writes "Belsat".

Nina Baginskaya brought a disk with a recording of Alexander Lukashenko's speech to the hearing. On October 20, 2020, he said about the activist:

"You look only Nina Baginskaya, don't take her away from the squares. If Nina Baginskaya is taken away, there will be no opposition. There will be no one to go. I remember Nina Baginskaya, I say jokingly, she worked in Poznyak's security service. Well, good for her. She's a convinced person. She's convinced. Yes, her views are radically different from ours. But this is a convinced person and in no case can she be taken off the street, because the scenery will disappear."

Nina Baginskaya has big health problems - she has a number of severe chronic diseases. All the documents confirming the diagnoses are in hand.

The verdict on the case is likely to be announced today. It is not known whether anyone will be allowed to attend the announcement of the verdict. Nina Baginskaya faces real imprisonment, but perhaps the court will be able to take into account the severe physical condition of the woman, her age and will pass the sentence without sending Baginskaya to jail.
