Fighting continues under extremely difficult conditions.
Ukrainian forces have recently enjoyed tactical success in the Novopavlovsk direction near Kurakhovo.
This is talked about in a recent report by the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The analysts cite geolocation materials that confirm the advance of the Ukrainian Defense Forces northeast of the settlement of Bagatir.
At the same time, the situation in this area remains tense. According to Ukrainian military expert Konstantin Mashovets, Russian units have also achieved an advance - one kilometer in the direction from Oleksiyivka.
On May 28-29, Russian troops continued their assault operations west of Kurakhovo, near Andriyivka, Konstantinivka, Bagatir, as well as in the areas of Oleksiyivka and Otradnoye.
Some Russian sources claim that the Ukrainian counterattack from Novoukrainka was unsuccessful. Among the problems facing Ukrainian units in this section is the enemy's active use of fiber-optic drones, which are difficult to intercept. The Russians use such drones at a distance of up to 20 km from their positions, hitting targets close to the front line, particularly in the area of Zeleny Kut.
Thereby, although the Ukrainian Defense Forces have local successes, in general the fighting continues in extremely difficult conditions, with constant enemy activity.
