Kellogg: Trump Frustrated By Russia's Level Of Irrationality

Moscow has still not provided the Ukrainian side with the promised memorandum.

US President Donald Trump is "disappointed with the level of Russia's unreasonableness" in the process of negotiating peace in Ukraine. This was stated by the US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg in an interview with ABC News.

The general emphasized that Moscow has not yet provided the Ukrainian side with the promised memorandum. This creates additional risks for the continuation of negotiations.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin promised during his conversation with Trump to provide his own proposals to settle the war of the week, but neither the American nor Ukrainian sides have received them.

"I asked the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine whether he had seen this document - he said he had not seen it at all....Neither has the Ukrainian negotiator Umerov," Kellogg said.

Trump said Ukraine may reject the June 2 talks in Istanbul because it has not received the promised memorandum.

Kellogg added that Trump has made several initiatives that could form the basis for discussions on the future status of the occupied territories, but Russia's lack of response and weak support for those proposals has disappointed him. The general said:

"I think his frustration is that he made some reasonable proposals and tried to start a constructive discussion. But instead he saw a level of stupidity that I was also very disappointed with."
