Tim Peake has stated that there is complex, intelligent life beyond Earth.

British astronaut Tim Peake has claimed that there is complex, intelligent life beyond Earth. He predicted an imminent encounter with aliens in a conversation with Daily Mail.

In December 2015, Peake traveled to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the crew of the Russian Soyuz spacecraft and stayed in orbit until June 2016. Peake admitted that during his time in space he did not see any signs of extraterrestrial life nearby, but believes in its existence.

"If you take our Milky Way galaxy with its 200 billion stars, it is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies that we can see. So there is a high probability that there is complex intelligent life somewhere else in the universe," the astronaut said.

He is also confident that the detection of this life is not far off. Peake noted that there is a lot of water in the universe, which means the probability of life originating is high. "We have discovered thousands of exoplanets near stars near us, and they have very good markers of potential habitability. For example, there are planets with oceans," the Briton developed his idea.

The astronaut expressed confidence that in the next 5-10 years will be able to detect some form of life beyond Earth.
