Trump Names Condition For EU And China To Be "happy" With Trade Duties

The US president is pushing the EU to raise duties on imports of goods from China.

American leader Donald Trump has expressed hope that the EU will "open up" to trade with the US and endorse his demand for China. He wrote this on his Truth Social page.

"I just got word that the EU has called to quickly set dates for a meeting. This is a positive development and I hope they will finally, as with my demand for China, open up European countries to trade with the US. They will both be very happy and successful if they do," he wrote.

The Wall Street Journal wrote, citing sources, that Trump is pushing the EU to raise duties on imports of goods from China in order to strike a trade deal with the US.
