Alexei Getman: Taurus May Fly Over Lukashenko's Bunker

How German missiles will make a difference on the front.

German Foreign Minister Johan Wadeful commented on the possible transfer of German long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

The German minister said that German authorities would not inform the public about the supply of certain weapons to Ukraine.

What is known about Taurus? Will Germany transfer them to Ukraine? For a comment, the website Charter97.org turned to military expert, reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine Alexei Getman:

- Taurus is a German-made missile from the same line as Storm Shadow and Scalp, which the AFU has from the UK and France. The difference is that it has a heavier warhead (more than 400 kg, there are different modifications) and a range of more than 500 km.

Germany can give us somewhere 100-150 missiles. They are, let's say, armor-piercing: they can destroy fortified objects. This missile penetrates the fortifications and then the explosion takes place.

As a result, either a protected communication center, or an underground warehouse, or a control center, a bunker, where the Russian leadership may be located, can be destroyed.

- Will Germany hand over the Taurus to Ukraine?

Our European partners are different from today's U.S. administration. They don't make populist statements, if they said that restriction is lifted for long-range weapons, it is lifted. This does not mean that, say, in the long run, we'll talk about it sometime, we'll make a favorable deal.

Today, European leaders traditionally (the countries we're talking about) are professional politicians. They value their reputation and they do not want to show themselves as populists or, simply put, clowns. They left this role to Trump, let him play it.

I personally want to say: if Trump is so worried about clothes, dress code, then let him learn how to tie and wear a tie properly. The tie should be up to the belt.

- How will the decision of the German authorities affect the situation on the front?

- Nothing will change dramatically. It will be 100-150 missiles, also Scalp and Storm Shadow, which have had their limit removed. They fired less than 300 km not because they can't fly farther, but because of the range restrictions. I think that these restrictions have been removed, they can fly further.

This will not affect the situation on the front quickly. This is a systemic work. I am sure that the goals of the AFU in the RF have already been outlined. And depending on when we receive the first batch of missiles, we will prepare and strike Russian military facilities not only with drones, but also with these missiles.

- Do you think the Kremlin is frightened by Germany's statements?

- I emphasize that I don't care what Peskov, Skabeeva, and Putin himself say, how they react. Let them bang their heads against the wall. Within the framework of international law, we are defending the country from the aggressor's attack and will do everything that is allowed by international law: destroy military and military-industrial facilities deep inside the aggressor country.

If, for example, Lukashenko wants to attack, then as soon as the first Belarusian soldier tries to cross our border, it will mean aggression on the part of Belarus. Immediately any military and military-industrial facility on the territory of Belarus becomes a legitimate target of Ukraine.

If Lukashenko only tries it, then immediately (on the same day) there will be a strike on the military-industrial potential of Belarus. And with Taurus missiles on the bunker in which Lukashenko decides to hide.
