Republican Congressman: Ukraine Should Be Armed To The Teeth

House of Representatives Republican member Don Bacon rejected the idea of peace talks with Russian Federation after Russia's massive shelling of Ukraine this weekend and called for decisive steps.

Bacon wrote on social media X.

Bacon, known for his sympathy for Ukraine, reacted to data on the number of drones and missiles used by Russia to strike Ukraine on Saturday night and Sunday.

"It's time for honesty. Peace talks have no effect on Putin," Bacon stressed.

He said the Kremlin continues its aggression with the goal of subjugating Ukraine and will not stop until it faces determined resistance.

"His (Putin's) goal is to dominate Ukraine, and he will not stop until he realizes he cannot win," the congressman stressed.

He called on the US and allies to act uncompromisingly, "The US and allies should arm Ukraine to the teeth, impose maximum sanctions against Russia and seize $300 billion of Russian assets abroad."

Bacon is one of the most consistent supporters of Ukraine among US lawmakers. In March 2025, he published an op-ed in The New York Times criticizing the Trump administration's overly soft attitude toward Russia.
