Fishing nets were also sent by Sweden.

Fishermen from the Danish village of Tuborøn sent to Ukraine about 450 tons of fishing nets, which are now used for catching drones. This is reported by Business Insider.

The 53-year-old Danish farmer Karl Futtrup became interested in the idea: according to the man, he was regularly interested in the needs of the Ukrainian military and sent them various equipment. One day, he learned from the soldiers that they needed nets - strong enough to string around fortifications and thus stop drones.

The man learned that fishermen in Tyborøn, a village of about 2,000 people in Jutland, had about 450 tons of unused fishing nets stored in warehouses at the port. These were trawl nets made of nylon fibers up to 4 mm thick. The nets are designed to catch large schools of fish at depth in the sea.

Futtrup contacted local fishermen and they agreed to donate the nets to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Mikhail Ardashin, a senior soldier of the Separate Artillery Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine spoke to BI about the effectiveness of fishing nets against drones. The drones still fly due to propellers that get tangled in the nets, he said.

Even if such a drone explodes, the net will not burn completely and another part of it will be able to deter other drones, he said. Some drones, once entangled in the net, cannot explode, Ardashin said.

According to Yle, fishing nets for catching drones in Ukraine were also sent from Sweden.
