More Germans Approve Of Merz's Performance As Chancellor

In Germany, the level of approval of the new chancellor Friedrich Merz, who started his term with a low rating, has risen.

This is according to the results of an Insa poll for Bild.

According to the poll, more and more citizens are satisfied with the work of Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This opinion was expressed by 31% of respondents, which is 8 percentage points more than a week after Merz took office.

47% are still dissatisfied with Merz's work - their number decreased by 2 points. 22% were undecided or gave no answer.

Merz's party, the Christian Democratic Union, also scored its best result in two months in the poll.

The poll gives the CDU/CSU 27% - up one percentage point from last week. At the same time, the far-right Alternative for Germany lost one point and now has 24%.

The SPD (16%), Greens (11%), Left Party (10%) and Sarah Wagenknecht's Alliance (4%) had no change.
