Drones Attacked Azot Chemical Plant In Russia's Tula Region

On the night of Saturday, May 24, drones in the Tula region of the Russian Federation hit the chemical company "Azot", which produces products for military purposes. This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andrey Kovalenko.

In particular, ammonium nitrate from the enterprise is used as a component for the production of explosives. Methanol can serve as a raw material for the production of fuels, including components for rocket fuel.

Argon is used in metallurgy, in particular, for welding and heat treatment of metals for the defense industry, Kovalenko points out.

Telegram channel Astra writes that as a result of a UAV attack at the Azot plant in Novomoskovsk there was a fire, eyewitnesses report smoke. Also, according to rossMedia, the Russian region has begun evacuating the population that lives within a 10 km radius of the chemical plant.

Information on Azot's website indicates that it is Russia's largest producer of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers, and one of the industry's leading producers by type and quantity of products.
