Lukashenko Has Reshuffled His Staff

Karanik to the Academy of Sciences, Petkevich to the government.
On May 22, Alexander Lukashenko made a number of personnel appointments.
Natalya Petkevich was appointed Deputy Prime Minister. Prior to that, she served as deputy chairman of Lukashenko's Administration. In her new position she will replace Vladimir Karanik.
Karanik was appointed to head the Academy of Sciences. Before that, he held the post of deputy prime minister for two months, and even earlier he headed Hrodna region. Karanik will replace its current head Vladimir Gusakov.
Valery Vakulchik was appointed head of the Council of Ministers. He headed the State Security Committee from 2012 to September 3, 2020, and then was Lukashenko's aide - inspector for Brest region.
