Trump And Rubio React To The Killing Of Israeli Embassy Staffers In Washington, D.C.

The U.S. will take decisive action.

Senior U.S. officials have strongly condemned the murder of Israeli embassy staff in Washington, D.C., which took place on Wednesday, May 21.

In particular, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote that the "horrific murders" in Washington, D.C., committed "motivated by anti-Semitism" must stop immediately.

"Hate and radicalism have no place in the United States. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that things like this can happen! May God bless you all!" the memo reads.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said the U.S. "condemns in the strongest possible terms" the murder of two Israeli Embassy employees in Washington.

"This was a brazen act of cowardly, anti-Semitic violence. Have no doubt: we will find the perpetrators and bring them to justice," he wrote.

Israel's ambassador to the UN Danny Danon also said Wednesday's shooting was a "depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism."

"Harming the Jewish community crosses a red line. We are confident that US authorities will take strong action against those responsible for this criminal act. Israel will continue to act decisively to protect its citizens and representatives - anywhere in the world," he wrote.

On May 21, two Israeli embassy employees were killed in a shooting in Washington. It took place near the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. Police are now investigating.
