Lavrov Rejects Idea Of Temporary Truce In Ukraine

The Russian foreign minister said Russians "have been in these stories before."

Russia will not support the idea of a temporary truce in the war it has unleashed in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking in Yerevan, Armenia, part of the video was published by the Russian propaganda agency TASS.

"Now, when they tell us: 'Here, let's have a ceasefire - and then we'll see there' - no, guys. We have already been in these stories, we don't want this anymore," Lavrov said.

He accused European leaders of "hysterical" pressure on the United States to impose new financial restrictions against Russia and mentioned the 17th package of sanctions from the European Union.

Lavrov, quoted by the RIA Novosti propaganda agency, said he believes that during the cease-fire "without any conditions for a month at least, if not longer," Ukraine's allies want to "in a calm atmosphere" to re-arm Kiev.
