Dupuy de Lome began conducting intelligence work in the Baltic, where NATO countries' intelligence agencies need information amid Russian activity, last Friday, May 16. The publication characterized the ship's mission as secret, and there is no official data about it yet.

Dupuy de Lome, which can stay at sea for up to 30 days without interruption, was sent to the Baltic Sea by order of the French Directorate of Military Intelligence (DRM). The ship has a range of 300 nautical miles (about 11,600 kilometers).

The crew includes about one hundred people - military and civilian specialists.

A German reconnaissance vessel Oker is also on duty in the Baltic, which has been cruising near Kaliningrad and in the Gulf of Finland for several weeks. The scout specializes in intercepting and recording electromagnetic signals.
