The firm has been in operation since 1997.
The Economic Court of Minsk started to consider the case of financial insolvency of Megapack, according to the data of the Unified State Register of bankruptcy information. The company had been operating since 1997 and held one of the leading positions in the packaging market, writes "Zerkalo".
The initiator of the bankruptcy case was the company itself. The financial situation of the company was not easy: its debt exceeds 746.6 thousand rubles, of which almost 94 thousand - unpaid wages to former employees.
Meanwhile, its assets were estimated at 15 thousand rubles in the form of goods, 4.8 thousand - fixed assets. About 140 thousand is accounts receivable, and about 7 thousand - other inexpensive property.
The firm also has 51 enforcement proceedings against it for the amount of almost 182 thousand rubles. Therefore, the court accepted the bankruptcy petition and opened bankruptcy proceedings. This is a procedure of economic insolvency. It is carried out in order to satisfy the claims of creditors, to protect the rights of the debtor, as well as creditors during rehabilitation (rehabilitation). If it is impossible to carry out rehabilitation or there are no grounds for it, the liquidation proceedings of the debtor are started.
Megapak Company was engaged in the production and supply of packaging, including film, containers, dishes and bags made of biodegradable materials. It is one of the most experienced and large market players in Belarus.
Last year, another major company in this area, Uniflex, was taken over by the Russian group Novaroll.
A couple of years ago, Belarus had problems with packaging materials, primarily with Tetra Pak. At that time, the authorities were actively looking for an alternative to Western production.
