The political analyst recalled a visit that never materialized.

Director of the EU Eastern Neighborhood and Russia Research Program at the Finnish Institute of International Relations Arkadi Moses commented on Lukashenko's peacekeeping efforts in an interview with "Filin":

- It's not even laughed at anymore. It is simply ignored. Because the Europeans during the past Minsk processes have already created a picture as if Lukashenko really played a mediating role.

That is why we can say that the doorman in the hotel where the meetings were held also played a mediating role. And the waiter who brought the coffee.

The person who serves can hardly be considered a mediator. But the Europeans deliberately pretended that Lukashenko was indeed a mediator. They wanted very much to tear him away from Russia, so they gave him this opportunity in the hope that maybe something would come out of it.

They played along with Lukashenko. And now he has nothing but these old scenarios.

And he is using them to chew his way out of the hole that Russia built for him, or he himself built it for Russia to keep him in it.

Arkady Moshes does not rule out that Lukashenko has certain grudges against Moscow:

- He is not given the proper honor and respect that a major ally could expect.
