The scientist called the coming summer "a test for our zonal nature."
Head of the Laboratory of Ecosystem Optimization of the Polessky Agrarian and Ecological Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Viktor Demyanchik warned Belarusians about a possible "invasion of forest aliens," which can be expected in the country due to the "real drought."
Demianchik noted that the almost snowless winter and lack of abundant precipitation this spring actually resulted in a real drought - shallowing of rivers, reservoirs, reduction of the forage base for large animals.
"Therefore, they have moved closer to the settlements. We should expect forest "aliens". For example, foxes, raccoon dogs, reptiles, which experience a very large moisture deficit," Demyanchik warned, calling the coming summer "a test for our zonal nature."
