Macron: Russia Wants To Buy Time By Refusing Ceasefire

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not want a truce with Ukraine. Thus he is trying to buy time.

French President Emmanuel Macron wrote about it in social network X.

Macron recalled that he, along with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.

"President Putin has once again failed to respond to the offer of an unconditional ceasefire made by the Americans and supported by Ukraine and the Europeans. By refusing a ceasefire and dialogue with Ukraine, Russia shows that it does not want peace and seeks to buy time by continuing the war," the French leader emphasized.

Macron assured that he and other European leaders will coordinate with the US and a "coalition of the resolute" to "define a coherent response."
